Nevada's Impact - Nathan Clark with Peter Goin, Professor of Art

I grew up in a household and environment that encouraged an active interest in the arts, as well as participating in creative endeavors such as the school yearbook, the annual Arts and Recognition Night and the photography club. These activities all led me towards my current studies within the Art Department at the University of Nevada School of the Arts in the College of Liberal Arts.
Once I came to the university I chose to study photography under the accomplished professor Peter Goin. I have been blessed to learn more about the technical side of photography while enjoying the well-rounded education this university has to offer.
I am now a junior in the Bachelor of Fine Arts program. While at Nevada, I have helped to re-start the Art Club and have actively volunteered within the photography department. I plan to graduate in the spring of 2010, and I would like to pursue a masters of fine art in graduate school.
I hope to use my education to help me achieve my goals of creating art that enriches people’s lives. I would love to become a professor someday, maybe even back here at the University of Nevada, Reno.
Scholarship support like the Taber Endowed Scholarship has allowed me to concentrate more on schoolwork without having to worry about finances. I’m very grateful for the opportunities I now have because of scholarships from friends and alumni of Nevada.
