- Endowed Scholarships
Endowed scholarships are critical to support the financial needs of a growing student body. Scholarships make a difference in the University’s ability to attract and retain the best and brightest students, many of whom without financial aid would be unable to pursue their educational goals. The minimum donation to establish an endowed scholarship is $10,000; however, endowed scholarships accept gifts of any amount from anyone who would like to support deserving students.
- Endowed Positions

An endowed chair fully funds the salary and other benefits needed for the position without the use of state funds. The cost: $2,000,000 minimum ($100,000 yearly)
- Endowed University Professorships: An endowed university professorship provides increased compensation support to outstanding, senior faculty members already employed by the University, or to recruit outstanding faculty from other institutions. An endowed professorship provides funds to extend a state-supported position. The cost: $500,000 minimum ($25,000 yearly).
- Endowed Lectureship -- An endowed lectureship provides increased support to outstanding, junior faculty members already employed by the University, or to recruit outstanding, junior faculty from other institutions, By providing increased opportunities for professional growth, the endowment enables the Unniversity to reward and encourage career development in outstanding, junior faculty members. - Annual Giving
Annual Giving Programs are Nevada's yearly fund-raising efforts that provide the opportunity for alumni and friends to give to the university and the specific colleges, schools, or programs of their choice. Our goals include increasing the number of donors, securing annual gifts, and enhancing relationships between alumni, friends, and the University of Nevada, Reno. Ultimately, the Annual Giving Programs seek to apply your gifts to the enhancement of academic programs currently offered on campus in order to benefit Nevada students. - Alumni Class Challenge
One way the University solicits for unrestricted funds is through the Class Endowment Challenge Campaign. This campaign solicits on a class-by-class basis, utilizing the spirit of competition to benefit the University. Funds raised are endowed so that they can be used into perpetuity. The interest from the funds is used for scholarships and wherever expendable dollars are needed most. - Parents
Because there's more to life than studying! The Parents Fund was established by the Foundation in 2004 for the specific purpose of benefiting the student body through means other than scholarships. Hundreds of donors have contributed amounts ranging from $5 to $1,000 and the Fund is ready to support the needs of students outside of tuition and books. If you’re considering giving to Nevada, consider this worthy fund. The students appreciate it! - Colleges and Academic Units
The University’s several schools, colleges and academic units have priorities where your gift is needed. Contact the appropriate development director for more information.
